How Do You Know...

How do you know if what you feel is truly real? How do you know what is real?

I know I'm real. I know my kids are real. I know that kind of stuff. I'm talking about your feelings. How do you know that they're real?

They say that some people think with their heart and some with their heads. Um, hello? The heart is a muscle; it has no receptors in order to think and feel. Your brain is the one that thinks. It just depends on which side, left or right, that is doing the thinking.

I mean, seriously. How do you know if you're in love with someone? Does it make your heart race? Do your palms sweat? Does your tummy do flip flops? Possibly.

What does it mean when you don't feel that anymore? If you haven't felt that in a long time?

What does that mean?

Actually, I'm a little scared of the answer....

  1. I don't personally have the shivers anymore when I see him. But I can walk into the bathroom and see that he forgot to flush after a number 2 and still not run away forever. I feel that is love.

  2. Love is a strange word. It has a truly different definition for everyone. Put aside the romantic notions of love that the poets and singers would thrust upon you and look inside for what makes you HAPPY. To me, true love is about happiness for both. Not necessarily every day, as there will always be ups and downs, but knowing that you are happy and content in general tobe witht hat person in the long run. If that isn't happening, I suspect everything else tends to be a lie.

Most people don't want to do that anymore..The grass is never greener..
